AMERICA TODAY

The National Park Service (NPS) was founded in 1916. As of 2024 there are 423 different units that the NPS manages. These 425 units include national parks, monuments, battlefields, military parks, historical parks, historic sites, lakeshores, seashores, recreation areas, scenic rivers and trails, and the White House.  During our journey there were 58 national parks. As of 2024 there are 63 national parks with Pinnacles NP being designated in 2014, Gateway Arch NP in 2018, Indiana Dunes NP in 2019, White Sands NP 2020, New River Gorge 2020.

Today we are here to reach under served youth and connect them with the outdoors, nature and national parks.  This connection is achieved by teaching the kids about America's National Parks and the national park service.

An Educational Journey

In

America's National Parks

America has created a generation of nature and nurture deficient children and adults alike.  We would like to alter this trend, offering individuals more than what they are currently getting from playing video games, watching television, surfing the internet or sitting on their couches. Additionally, most of these activities sadly thrive without human interaction or relationship.  We are vested in changing this trend.  If people will go outside, move, breath fresh air, and interact with their environment they will fundamentally and drastically improve their biological footprint of physical, mental, emotional, and social health.

NOW WHAT?

Discovering America's 58

A LITTLE HISTORY

a lifetime of learning

My name is Anthony Beverley.  In 2010 and 2011 my family and I trekked across the United States in a 32 foot long RV for a year.  During our journey we visited every single national park in the contiguous US.

That was 47 different national parks. In addition, we visited monuments, national park properties and an array of other desirable iconic places such as Niagara Falls in upstate New York.  We have not visited the 8 national parks in Alaska, the 2 in Hawaii or the one in the America Samoa...at least not yet. Additionally, my children have been to every single state in the lower 48 in the US.
